My mother's the music director at her (Mormon) church. Her playlist's heavy on "Protestant warhorses," to the exclusion of anything sappy or cheesy (sadly, about 1/4 of the 1985 hymnal.) "God Of Our Fathers, Whose Almighty Hand" -- probably the most conservative, muscular-Christianity song out there -- shows up a lot, along with a bunch of Thirty Years War-era songs-to-fight-the-Hapsburgs-by. "O God, Our Help In Ages Past" at least a couple times per year, and the Ralph Vaughn Williams "For All The Saints."
I went looking through the Presbyterian Hymnal the other day, looking for a SATB-only version of "See Amid the Winter's Snow" instead of the beautiful-but-needs-a-better-accompanist-than-we've-got version in my Cambridge Carols for Choirs. A solid library of beautiful old reliables -- but as far as I can tell, every song written after 1975 is a ghastly PC screed by sixties nostalgists, pretty much making Christ out to be an Occupy Whatever loser.
